A Single Step
Lessons in Experience
In 1770 our founder gathered a large and diverse group of explorers, adventurers, sailors, free masons, magicians and what can only be classified as aristocratic hired thugs. This group met in secret near Downing Street (not where you're thinking) to discuss possible exploits left to them to explore freely and on an agenda that belonged solely to the adventurer. These journeys and experiences are to this day very secretive in nature yet some of our more prominent and public agents have made a name for themselves quite literally in this world. John Cook, who was a captain and adventurer made a great many trips to the South Pacific and later his son Nathanial found a trove of knowledge and experience. Some wrote about their journeys like Robert L. Stevenson who joined after the reforming of the LAG in 1862. Unfortunately those are the only names we can share from our catalogue of members who span across every country in this world (and possibly others). We do not seek people to join our guild, we in fact will recruit you if we feel you possess the skills and exposure we need.
So why a website, why even talk about what you can't talk about?
Honestly, our current president, an 11th Generation American whose own Great Great grandfather was recruited in 1862, asked the same question. Well, not the same, it was worded more like this, "The internet is a web of lies tied with fanciful truths to make the lies even more tasty. What better platform to promote our guild, in a place where nothing is what it seems."
My grandmother once said, as she quoted a former guild member, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
History is Sometimes worth Repeating
1770 - Lord (Redacted) gathered at (Redacted) Downing Street in London England to hold the first meeting and to establish a charter of the London Adventurers Guild.
1805 - Lord (Redacted), then president of the guild and Sir (Redacted) foreign diplomat and Guild Master of Flight had a falling out in the direction of the guild as loyalties to the East and West divided the guild, splintering it into factions spread across the world and blending into groups like the Odd Fellows and The Turkish Adept Society.
1862 - Paris, Statesman (Redacted) Giffling 1st Class, Gasper Group reformed the LAG establishing new governances while maintaining strict confidence of information secrecy. This newly reformed organization brought back together the splintered groups to address a greater concern to the world and threat to mankind.
Today - Technology advancements, ease of travel, simple communications allow us to continue thwarting the threats to our existence from outside forces. While we cannot speak to the work we do and the forces we are sworn to stand against, the efforts of the Large Haldron Collider have generated more than the God particle.
